Places to eat on Boracay

Lemon cakeThere are plenty to choose from. Whether its cheap and local or a special occasion there’s food and prices to suit all. But here’s a few favourites to save some of the trial and error.

Lemon Cafe (just fabulous)

What can we say about Lemon Cafe? Tatler Award winning and we had them cater our wedding. Clean crisp decor that doesn't suit intimate cosy meals but the food is simply excellent. Try the seared sesame ahi tuna and soba noodles followed by the tiger prawns and coconut risotto. The deserts are what draws the crowd. Expect to pay for 2 persons $40-$50 with wine. Located in D'Mall.

Cafe del Mar ****

Not just a top spot for sunset cocktails in a classy ambient atmosphere. Its happy our til 7pm draws its favourites as well as us on many nights of the week. The food is excellent, and well priced. Expect to pay about $30 for 2 with cocktails, starters and entres each. Kristy makes the best margaritas in town.

Smoke Restaurant ****

Located at the rear of the wet market at the back of d’mall, serving euro style Filipino food. Super good and as cheap as chips. 50 peso for 1 course. Service is good!

Paradiso ****

Located 100m south of d’mall on white beach serves up the best (huge) pizza on the island, as well as a huge fresh seafood selection. Go the ‘cheese lovers’ Xlarge it's the size of a bus wheel for about $10. Good service!

Fridays ****

On Friday it's sumptuous buffet night. All you can eat buffet. There’s plenty of choices and a good wine list. A little steep at 750 peso’s but it’s worth it and only once a week. Previously considered expensive its actually now well priced and great food from the menu. Excellent wine cellar.

Maňana **

Between boat station 1 and d’mall, 5 stars well earned by the huge margaritas, food is………well….. Mexican. All your regular stuff and some tasty sizzling platters. 3 margaritas will set you up for a good night out. Unfortunately since a refurb prices have risen to higher than the food is worth. So 5 stars is now 2

Aria *

Tragically Aria sports some of the best Italian food on the island and is ideally located centrally but offers some of the poorest service and highest prices. Be prepared to eat something fabulous somebody else ordered. We steer clear despite the good food.
